Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will systems with the 1.x agent continue to function after October 15, 2025?
No. After this date, Automox will deprecate the infrastructure that supports the 1.x agent. Devices running the 1.x agent will cease to function as expected.
Can I test the 2.x agent before organization-wide deployment?
Yes. You can deploy the 2.x agent to a specific organization or devices in a sandbox environment to validate functionality prior to a full rollout.
What if an upgrade to the 2.x agent fails?
Automox uses a “Recoverable by Default” update process. If an anomaly is detected during upgrade, the system will automatically revert to the last known good state.
How can I manually upgrade the Automox Agent?
Review the step-by-step manual upgrade instructions.
Why is Automox discontinuing support for the 1.x agent?
The 1.x agent is no longer able to meet modern security and reliability standards. Ending support allows us to focus on delivering a more robust and secure experience with the 2.x agent.
