DHCP/Rotating IP address limitations for device identification
For this article, we recommend referencing our Automox UUID Generation Guide.
When you use DHCP/rotating IP addresses for your network or devices, the IP addresses will change from time to time. However, the Automox agent determines a device's unique fingerprint or UUID based on the criteria as described in the Automox UUID Generation Guide. Because the IP address changes, it is possible that the fingerprint or UUID of a device will also change. This can lead to a consumption of a license and a new device ID creation.
