Troubleshooting macOS Stuck GetSoftware Command
Issue
You have already worked with Automox Support to have stuck GetSoftware commands cleared from your macOS devices, but they continue to be stuck and cause policy execution issues.
Cause
This issue is often due to a "hung" software update that prevents the system from completing its update process. Intervention is required to restart the affected system services.
Solution
To resolve the stuck resolve stuck software update commands, run the following command:

Open the terminal on the affected macOS device and run:
sudo launchctl kickstart -k system/com.apple.softwareupdated
- This command restarts the macOS software update service, forcing it to reinitialize.
Additional Notes
- If this solution does not resolve the issue, verify that the macOS device is fully connected to the network and has sufficient permissions for updates.
- Check device logs for errors related to softwareupdated to identify deeper issues.
