Is your Windows device still showing a Needs Reboot flag even though you have Rebooted it from the Automox dashboard?
When OS upgrades are installed, the reboot will trigger WindowsUpdateBox.exe. This is a file Windows uses to apply feature updates. This typically gives a response in our Reboot command of "Finalizing OS Upgrade...", so this is not an actual reboot but, rather, the WindowsUpdateBox.exe beginning its work of finalizing the installation. This process can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 hours after the reboot command before it actually reboots.
The best way to determine if this is the reason the Needs Reboot flag is not clearing is to check if the WindowsUpdateBox.exe is running on the device.
To resolve the issue and clear the flag, you can also manually shut down the device for at least 30 seconds.
