Patch Application Behavior Table
The following table lists the types of behavior for third-party software patching in Automox so that you can take actions, such as configuring groups and policies accordingly, if necessary. See also details about overrides in the section after this table.

Third-Party Overrides Options
The defined default patching behavior listed in the App will NOT patch when running column is intended to prevent patching of applications that are currently running. When this behavior is not appropriate for a given environment, you can choose to use a worklet to generate a local override file. After the overrides file is implemented, subsequent patch runs will honor the desired update behavior and force close the selected software titles. This is described in our Automox Worklets for Third-Party Overrides.
Note:
Google Chrome for Windows (Product Name: “google_chrome”) can be configured for overrides even though it WILL patch when running. Setting this override will cause Automox to force close Chrome before patching so the new version is effective immediately.
