How does a required software policy (RSP) perform an evaluation?
The RSP's evaluation check compares the version of the existing install with the version of the application that is attached to the policy.
Using the Required Software Policy
- Package version is used to identify if the exact package version is installed on the device.
However, how it compares (LEAST vs. EXACTLY) is that it checks the file that is attached to itself and examines to see if the device has at LEAST that version. If it is higher, then the Required Software Policy does nothing. If it's lower, then it will install. If it's EXACT, then the RSP does nothing as well.
